Why African trade needs live data, not annual reports

14 Apr 2026 · 5 min read

A cooperative in northern Uganda deciding when to sell maize does not need last year's export figures. It needs today's price signals, currency movements and buyer demand across borders.

Most trade information in Africa still arrives as annual reports and static PDFs. That is useful for historians, but it leaves traders, farmers and small exporters deciding in the dark.

A platform-first approach changes this: short daily updates, live dashboards and an opportunity feed that surfaces market gaps as they appear.
